Maumee River Bridge Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Ohio Department of Transportation , in cooperation with TMACOG and the communities of Northwest Ohio, is undertaking the design and construction of a new bridge structure and its accompanying roadway approaches. The Maumee River Bridge Crossing project represents the largest and the most expensive project developed in the history of ODOT. At an estimated cost of more than $200 million, the new bridge will carry six lanes of traffic on I-280 and will be a significant architectural, engineering and transportation asset for Northwest Ohio. The elevation of the roadway will reach about 130 feet high near the center of the river. The entire project reach from Manhattan Boulevard on the north end of I-280 to Navarre Avenue on the south end.

A commitment to public participation during the design process has been declared by ODOT Director Gordon Proctor.

"This is a signature project for Northwest Ohio," Proctor has said. "With a project of this scale and impact, it is imperative that community members voice their ideas and concerns. This is an exciting project and we want the public to be proud."

We invite you to join the efforts under way to begin the design of the bridge type and encourage you to continue participating in this project as the design process takes place.
